Your free Objective PLAYER PATHWAY Starts Here

COPA STC’s FREE Objective Player Pathway revolutionizes talent identification by utilizing comprehensive assessments to measure an athlete’s technical, physical, and cognitive abilities. These laboratory-style assessments extend beyond traditional skill evaluations, employing advanced sports science techniques such as bone density analysis to determine a player’s skeletal age, thus providing deeper insights into their potential.
By comparing players’ objective data against standardized benchmarks for chronological and skeletal age, the pathway identifies talent that might be overlooked by conventional scouting methods. This innovative approach ensures equitable opportunities for all players, regardless of their background, to be recognized and connected with Talent ID Organizations.

Stage 1

Free Cube Rating and Qualifying Thresholds

The Cube Rating is a 32-ball assessment that evaluates an athlete’s first touch, speed of play, passing accuracy, and 360-degree spatial awareness. Although the COPA Score protocol offers a more comprehensive analysis, preliminary results show that the Cube Rating has an 82% correlation with the COPA Score protocol, thus providing a reliable initial assessment. For more than 12 years, TSG Hoffenheim has relied on this protocol as a crucial element of their proven and successful talent identification strategy.
Athletes who meet or exceed the benchmarks for their age group will be awarded a Free COPA Score, offering them the opportunity to advance through our Objective Player Pathway.
Stage 2

The COPA Score

Players advancing to step 3 will receive a Free COPA Score.
The COPA Score provides an extensive evaluation of players’ potential, utilizing advanced measurement technologies to assess technical, physical, and cognitive abilities in standardized conditions. This objective scoring system assists in identifying prospects’ potential and establishing crucial skill benchmarks for player development.
Stage 3

Enhanced Evaluation

Every athlete progresses through their biological maturation at a unique pace. Detecting these differences can be challenging, leading to a bias favoring physically mature individuals in traditional scouting methods.

The pathway addresses this issue by integrating COPA Score data with an analysis of the athlete’s skeletal age, which is a more accurate measure of biological maturity. This holistic strategy not only pinpoints players ready to make immediate contributions but also acknowledges those demonstrating exceptional potential relative to their stage of maturation.
Furthermore, in-depth cognitive assessments evaluate stress tolerance and cognitive flexibility, both vital attributes for success in high-performance sports.
Stage 4

Free Talent ID Day and Further Opportunities

The selection process for the Talent ID Day by COPA STC and its partners is data-driven and systematic, focusing on objective assessments. Chronological age comparison help identify those performing at or above the level expected for their age, meanwhile, skeletal age insights allow for the identification of athletes who may be late bloomers.
The comprehensive COPA Score, analyzing overall and individual performance metrics, is used to identify well-rounded high achievers as well as those with special talents in specific areas. Each Talent ID Organization may prioritize certain traits differently, based on playing philosophy or positional needs, in their search for their next talent.
Stage 5

Talent ID Organizations

For decades, clubs have relied on traditional scouting methods to find talent. However, in the United States, navigating through the vast pool of 13+ million soccer players, understanding players’ long-term potential, and making unbiased comparisons present significant challenges. Every year, countless players are overlooked by youth, college, and professional scouting processes. Additionally, various barriers prevent equal visibility for all players, complicating the identification of current talent and the talent of tomorrow.
Our growing list of forward-thinking organizations who recognize these challenges, are turning to COPA STC’s FREE OBJECTIVE PLAYER PATHWAY as an innovative tool to support their talent identification needs. They’re looking for their next star!
