COPA Talent ID Day: Raising the Bar in the Girls' Game

July 22nd marked another milestone for girls’ soccer in Northern California — and for the players whose performances showed just how high the level continues to climb.
This is the third installment of The COPA Talent ID Day, and the story remains the same each time out: talent gets identified through data, not reputation. Over 90 female players earned their way onto the field this time around, each one having cleared her benchmark through The COPA Score, out of 1000’s of assessments completed in this Talent ID cycle. These were the players who separated themselves in the data.
Every athlete here started the same way: taking The COPA Score, then digging into her own COPA Score Dashboard to see exactly where she stands physically, technically, and cognitively — both against her peers and against different levels of play. It’s built for the long game, a tool players come back to assessment after assessment, watching their own numbers move as they develop.
The recruiting landscape has never been more competitive, and events like this — paired with the objective, data-backed profile The COPA Score provides — is becoming an increasingly important way for players to get recognized. De Anza Force | Central Midfielder
Recognized in national talent pools, Sakura backed that up with a top-performing COPA Score and a day where she was rarely dispossessed. She kept the ball well under pressure and showed she’s a threat in the air too, getting up well for a header during the game — with the second-fastest Top Speed in the entire group (18.15 mph) helping her cover every blade of grass.
Kayla Belcher (2012 | 2031)
COPA Score: 84
San Ramon FC | Goalkeeper
Kayla dealt with a heavy volume of shots throughout the day and came up with some genuinely impressive saves between the posts. Her distribution was strong all day too, consistently helping her team build out of the back — instincts backed up by a Stress Tolerance score of 325, ranking in the top 20% of the field, exactly the kind of composure you want between the posts.
Gabriella Moore (2012 | 2030)
COPA Score: 91
Placer United | Central Midfielder
One of the highest COPA Scores of the day. Gabriella showed real composure holding the ball under pressure, linking play well, and using her dribbling to escape tight spaces and create chances for teammates — a rare combination, with a Technical Score of 97 and Cognitive Score of 96 both ranking in the top 15% of the entire field.
Ane Fahey (2011 | 2029)
COPA Score: 93
Santa Rosa United | Center Forward
One of the top COPA Scores of the entire day. An impressive attacker with strong but tricky feet, Ane showed a real gift for creating separation for herself and was among the standout players across all groups — no surprise given a Speed of Play of 1.94 seconds, the fastest mark of anyone at the event, and a Physical Score of 90, ranking in the top 10% of the field.
Alexis Simon-Carlson (2012 | 2030)

Davis Legacy | Central Midfielder
Coming from an incredibly talented Davis Legacy club, Alexis is physically a bit taller than her peers and was able to express both her technical and physical attributes throughout the day. Playing in a few different positions, she created chances, combined well with teammates, and stayed confident on the ball, particularly in tight spaces — a name to keep an eye on as she continues to develop. That physical edge shows up in the data too, with the 2nd-highest Physical Score and 3rd-fastest Top Speed in the entire U15 Girls field.

Sacramento United | Central Midfielder
A tidy, composed midfielder with an eye for a creative, incisive pass, Juliet controlled the tempo of the game and consistently looked to unlock defenses rather than play it safe. One of the more technically polished midfielders on the day, she always seemed to have the next pass in mind.
Camille Chamberlain (2011 | 2029)
COPA Score: 81
De Anza Force | Center Forward
Camille led the line and looked like a threat throughout. She showed excellent holdup play, comfortably receiving with her back to goal and bringing teammates into the game under pressure. Her movement off the ball consistently created space for herself and others, making her a dangerous focal point in the attack from start to finish.
Adelyn Harrington (2012 | 2030)
COPA Score: 94
MVLA | Outside Defender
Recognized in national talent pools, Adelyn posted one of the top COPA Scores in her age group. She showed no qualms getting stuck in physically, pairing that with real vision and a penetrating passing range rarely seen from an outside back — a Top Speed of 18.85 mph and a Physical Score of 96 have her ranked as the fastest and most physically dominant player in this year’s U15 Girls field.
Isabella Dalia (2012 | 2030)
COPA Score: 87
San Juan SC | Central Defender
A high-performing COPA Score backed up by what we saw live — really comfortable and creative on the ball for a defender. Isabella got herself out of tricky situations with composure, showing shiftiness and a real burst of speed — no surprise given a Technical Score of 98 and a Speed of Play of 2.05 seconds, both ranking in the top 5% of this elite field.
Danica Cocoletzi (2012 | 2030)
COPA Score: 65
South Tahoe Futbol Club | Goalkeeper
Vocal and fully committed to every dive, Danica impressed with her shot-stopping throughout the day. Safe hands, no spills, and good footwork rounded out a strong showing between the posts.
Ailie Bissett (2012 | 2030)
COPA Score: 96
Livermore Fusion | Central Midfielder
One of the few left-footers at the event and one of the top COPA Scores across the board. Ailie showed composure on the ball and excellent balance between both feet, along with sharp triangle passing out to the wing. Her ability to process the game quickly was reflected in the data, recording a VTS Stress score of 385 (1st), a Speed of Play time of 1.96 seconds (2nd), a Cognitive Score of 97 (2nd), and the top COPA Score of the entire U15 Girls field.
Sicily La Macchia (2012 | 2030)
COPA Score: 80
Mustang SC | Center Forward
Recognized in national talent pools, Sicily showed a high standard throughout the day. Beyond her attacking quality, she made good runs off the ball, communicated well, and wasn’t afraid to get back and defend or tackle.
Abby Fusfeld (2011 | 2029)
COPA Score: 86
San Juan SC | Central Midfielder
An all-around player and consistent goal-scoring threat, Abby found the back of the net a few times across the day’s games — a Stress Tolerance score of 353 (4th-highest in the field) and a reaction time of 0.56 seconds (top 5%) point to the mental speed that helps her consistently find dangerous positions.
McKinley Dupre (2013 | 2031)
COPA Score: 82
San Juan SC | Central Midfielder
One of the youngest players in the entire U15 Girls group, McKinley showed composure and skill well beyond her years. Having come up through the COPA PDP pathway, she’s already been recognized by PDP and is one to watch for the future.
Morgan Van Puffelen (2011 | 2029)
COPA Score: 82
Mustang SC | Winger
Recognized in national talent pools, Morgan is a tricky winger who consistently made good runs off the ball to get herself into dangerous positions and cause problems for opposing defenses — a Top Speed of 17.59 mph has her ranked in the top 12% of the field.
Shai’Ann Jackson (2013 | 2031)
COPA Score: 76
San Juan SC | Outside Defender
Showed good defensive timing and solid distribution out of the back—a well-rounded, low-drama performance from a player who reads the game well. Calm in possession and comfortable stepping into challenges, she consistently made smart defensive decisions while helping her team build play from the back.
Surayah Jalal (2011 | 2029)

Mustang SC | Central Midfielder
Kept her eyes up throughout and consistently fought hard to win the ball back, showing real competitiveness in every phase of play — no surprise given a Cube Rating of 75.95 and Cube Accuracy of 90.6%, the top marks of anyone at the entire event.
Lily Rawlinson (2012 | 2030)
COPA Score: 80
San Juan SC | Outside Defender
Tricky on the ball, Lily consistently got to the byline to deliver dangerous crosses and create attacking opportunities while staying vocal and organizing those around her. She balanced her attacking instincts well with her defensive responsibilities and was a dependable presence on both sides of the ball.
Isabella Sepagan (2012 | 2030)

Diablo Valley Wolves | Central Midfielder
Showed good positioning throughout, filling in well at center back while remaining comfortable carrying the ball out of the back when the opportunity presented itself. Calm under pressure, she consistently looked to play forward and helped her team maintain possession through intelligent decision-making.
Giuliana Vargas (2012 | 2030)
COPA Score: 78
San Juan SC | Winger
Good movement off the ball paired with sharp distribution made Giuliana a reliable outlet throughout the day. She consistently found pockets of space, linked play well in the final third, and worked hard both in possession and defensively to support her teammates.
Audrey Zhen (2011 | 2029)
COPA Score: 82
MVLA | Central Midfielder
Composed on the ball throughout, Audrey impressed with her passing range and intelligent off-ball movement, consistently putting her team in good positions to build attacks. Comfortable dictating the tempo from midfield, she showed good vision and awareness while connecting play across all areas of the field.

Ariana Wutzke (2013)
COPA Score: 81
MVLA | Central Midfielder
A midfielder with quick feet, Ariana showed real creativity throughout the day, creating chances for teammates and getting shots away on goal. Playing for one of the top clubs in the country, she’s an exciting prospect with a genuinely impressive COPA Score for her age group, recording an 81 COPA Score (3rd overall) while also posting a 93 Cognitive Score (3rd) among the U13 Girls.
Marlowe Baer (2013)

Lamorinda | Outside Defender
A veteran of the COPA PDP pathway, Marlowe has previously earned invites to the program off the back of her COPA Score. This marked her second Talent ID Day, and she showed just how much she’s developed over the last two seasons—confident on the ball, strong in her 1v1 defending, and a contributor throughout the event. That physical ability was reflected in the data as well, recording the highest Physical Score in the U13 Girls (96) while also earning an 84 COPA Score, the second-highest in the group.
Ikshu Pathania (2013)
COPA Score: 77
Lamorinda SC | Central Defender
A central defender who played across multiple positions on the day, Ikshu showed real strength on both sides of the ball—comfortable defending, dangerous going forward, and confident throughout. Developed within a strong Lamorinda program, she’s an exciting overall profile, backed up by a 95 Physical Score (2nd overall) among the U13 Girls.
Jazelle Mena (2013)
COPA Score: 77
California Odyssey SC | Winger
A fearless winger, Jazelle consistently looked to take on defenders, attacking with confidence every time she got on the ball. She repeatedly drove at defenders, wasn’t afraid to shoot whenever the opportunity presented itself, and combined well with teammates to create dangerous attacking moments throughout the event. That technical ability showed up in testing as well, where she recorded a Cube Accuracy of 90% (2nd overall) and a Cube Rating of 72 (3rd) among the U13 Girls.
Varsha Venepally (2013)
Pleasanton Rage
Varsha showed a really strong attitude throughout the entire day. She played across multiple positions, combined well with her teammates, found some genuinely strong passes, and impressed the coaches on the sideline.

Bay Area Surf | Winger
A highly technical player, Isabela showed positive potential throughout the day both on the ball and in her movement. Comfortable taking players on and linking play in the attacking third, she displayed a technical skill set that should continue to serve her well as she develops.
Elizabeth Rigney (2014)
COPA Score: 75
Marin FC | Central Defender
Elizabeth carries a strong overall profile, excelling technically in testing and showing that same quality on the field. She’s shown real development over the last year, now playing for a strong Marin FC program — backed up by a Cube Accuracy tied for the 4th-highest in the entire U13 Girls field.
Sydney Roman (2013)
COPA Score: 77
Bay Area Surf | Central Midfielder
Comfortable playing multiple positions with both feet, Sydney was composed on the ball, combining well with teammates and staying confident in tight spaces. Her quick processing under pressure also showed up in testing, where she recorded a Reaction Time of 0.42 seconds (2nd overall) while posting an 89 Technical Score (5th) among the U13 Girls.
