COPA Talent ID Day – COPA Score Top Performers Showed Up and Balled Out

July 23rd at the Oakland Roots & Soul Performance Center was a showcase of serious quality.
More than 85 male players, born between 2014 and 2007, earned their spot on the field — and earned is the key word.
Back in April, we announced the launch of our multi‑phase Talent ID initiative — starting with a region‑wide COPA Score testing period and leading into exclusive opportunities like Talent ID Day. If you haven’t seen that announcement yet, you can read more about the full initiative and its goals HERE. That announcement lays out how testing feeds into events like the one we just hosted, where standout players earned the chance to showcase their skills.
Each player competed their way in by excelling in the COPA Score, our data-driven assessment measuring performance across technical, physical, cognitive, and maturation benchmarks. With over 2,300 assessments completed since April, these players stood out — and they showed why on game day.
The event drew serious attention- 6 MLS clubs were represented, along with multiple other scouts across USL, the Bundesliga, South America, and a strong mix of NCAA programs were all in attendance, evaluating talent from three age groups in a professional, high-intensity environment.
The result? Opportunities earned. These rising talents lit up the day – here’s a few standouts as selected by the onlookers
