COPA Soccer Training Center is proud to announce the launch of Unlocking Potential: A COPA Score Journey, a compelling new documentary showcasing how the COPA Score is transforming the way soccer talent is identified through objective data.
Produced by our affiliated digital media partner, Vertical Creative Studios, and presented by EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants, the documentary follows Ricky, a 17-year-old soccer player from American Canyon, CA, whose exceptional talent had been overlooked by traditional scouting methods. That changed when he completed the COPA Score assessment, data-driven evaluation of a player’s technical, physical, and cognitive abilities, along with a bone density scan to assess developmental potential. His impressive results earned him a trial with TSG Hoffenheim, a professional Bundesliga club in Germany, demonstrating the power of objective talent identification. In addition, Ricky has now been invited to multiple upcoming MLS academy trials, based on his COPA Score.
Unveiling Hidden Potential with the COPA Score
Unlike traditional scouting, which often relies on subjective observation, the COPA Score provides a scientific and objective approach to evaluating players.
Ricky’s assessment revealed:
✅When comparing his data against 400+ NCAA Division 1 players with an average age 20.1, Ricky was a top performer in technical, physical, and cognitive measurements.
✅His bone density analysis revealed a skeletal age of just 15.5, meaning he was 1.5 years behind his calendar age and nearly five years younger than his comparison group.
✅When comparing his data against 12 years of U-19 & U-19 TSG Hoffenheim’s database, Ricky scored in the 1% of speed of play and top 10% for overall technical ability.
✅As a late developer, Ricky still has significant room to grow, making his potential even more exciting.
